Reply with quote | #2 | David, Can you supply the rifle or do we have to find one w/ the thumb hole stock? That break looks great. I bet it is super effective. Sounds like these are better than the TC barrels for slugs?!? Thanks for your time! Blackelk |

the customer must provide the gun and I'll take care of the rest...
These slug guns are far more accurate than T/C's and I believe their accuracy potential is far better than any other slug gun on the market - regardless of price...
Accuracy work on these guns include the following:
Trigger adjusted to 2 1/2 to 3 lbs....
Barrel/base modified to 5-screws and base bedded to barrel...
Forend pillar/glass bedded...
Muzzle recrowned...
Muzzle brake...
Chamber "throat" recut...
Other than trying out various slugs to see which your gun will like the best, this is pretty much all that can be done to improve the performance of these guns...
I have always shot the Federal Hydra Shok - a "wasp waisted" 50 caliber slug that had the capability of taking deer and hogs out to a full 200 yards with devastating stopping power...
Anther high accuracy slug is the Hornady Y2K - a 300 gr. .45 caliber pistol bullet traveling at an honest 2,000 fps....
Winchesters Supreme sabot slug load is another slug that shoots extremely well in these particular slug guns and all three slugs mentioned are absolutely awesome when it comes to game stopping power....

Reply with quote | #4 | David,
Which 12 gauge barrel is best for this project? NEF's website lists a few barrels but I didn't see a listing for a heavy bull barrel. Is the barrel a smoothbore or rifled?
Thank you,

Reply with quote | #5 | Ben,
this gun is listed as the H&R Ultra slug gun...
The barrel is a 10 ga. barrel bored out to a 12 ga. - meaning that is basically a heavy bull barrel. And yes, the frame is also that of the 10 ga....
These barrels are fully rifled but, I don't believe they are offered as accessory barrels, just complete guns....
