David, I saw this quote on another thread.  "I also put the spring loaded extractor back in place and that will allow you to be able to shoot both the rimmed 307 Winchester as well as the rimless 308 Winchester interchangably. Just load and shoot...."

Can you do this with a 6.8 barrel to allow the use of 30-30 brass AND the standard 6.8 SPC, provided that the rim recess is cut in the barrel?

Duckhunter,

I cut "rim counterbores" for the 6.8 SPC barrels all the time as it does allow for the use of 30-30 brass after it has been run through a 6.8 SPC die and trimmed to length...

After 30-30 brass has been sized and trimmed, after a rim counterbore has been cut in your barrel, you can interchange between the 6.8 brass and 30-30 brass without having to change out the extractor...

This is also a prime example of where a "rimmed" cartridge will prove to be more accurate, because of it being shot in a break open single shot....
